Aberdeen gets new high-rise, electrical service an issue

BGE has denied electrical service to a couple residing in a new Aberdeen high-rise, but the two aren’t squawking about a lack of service. In fact, observers think they may be delighted.

The new high-rise – a nesting platform on top of a simulated electrical pole – is situated at the intersection of Old Post Road and Route 40, in front of Harford Systems, Inc. The dummy pole was erected by BGE to protect a nesting pair of osprey and their progeny.(read more) |
Confectioner finds a sweet thing in Bel Air

Paul Wockenfuss won’t deny that, while growing up, having a candy factory in his family’s basement was a good thing. Not only did he get his fill of chocolate, his father employed “practically everyone” in the neighborhood.
“It was after school for two or three hours, that sort of thing,” he said.
Paul is owner and president of Wockenfuss Candies. In January, he opened the business’s eighth store in Bel Air’s historic Fulford Cottage. The popular candy confectioner has been family owned and in continuous operation since 1915. (read more)
