Applicants sought for school ethics panel

The Harford County Board of Education is seeking applicants to fill potential openings on the public school system’s Ethics Panel. The five-member panel reviews inquiries about potential violations of ethics by school employees or members of the board. The panel also reviews the financial disclosures forms filed annually by all senior school administrators.

Panel members are appointed, at staggered intervals, to five-year terms. Members are appointed by the Board of Education and may serve two terms. Members are chosen countywide but consideration is given to providing demographic diversity on the panel.

Board member Teresa Garland’s term will expire in August. The term of Bruce A. Hart will end in January. The Board is seeking to fill both vacancies as they occur. One candidate must be admitted to the practice of law in Maryland.
Letters of interest, accompanied by biographical sketches, should be sent to Donald R. Morrison, director of public information, Harford County Public Schools, 102 S. Hickory Avenue, Bel Air, MD, 21014 by May 25.
