graw_markerAs Harford County’s senior residents pass, so too does first hand knowledge of the history that makes this part of Maryland unique. Joe Swisher, a leader with the Historical Society of Harford County and the Aberdeen Heritage Trust, has done his part to ensure history lives on.

Swisher has created a 12 DVD set, each with three stories unique to Harford County. Included are “A Jockey’s Story” by Donald Mergler, which details the life of a jockey at Havre de Grace’s former racetrack, The Graw. County Executive David Craig lends his love of history by providing a narrative on The Graw, while Jeff Smart shares the “History of APG” and “Harford in the Civil War.” Bob Magee shares his knowledge of the area’s “Early Settlers” and Doug Washburn  “Colored Schools.”
