Two Harford County public school students had their artistic efforts recognized recently. Jourdan Stallknecht, who will be a senior at C. Milton Wright High School, was selected as a state finalist for the combined Maryland/Washington D.C. area in the 2009 Doogle4Google competition. Her art was one of 400 selected for state honors from more than 28,000 entries nationwide. The contest called for students to recreate the Google logo with doodles they felt best represented the theme “What I Wish for in the World”.  Stallknecht used a go-green recycling theme for his entry.

Roberty Building in Bel Air. Visitor Jackie Brown was so inspired by her piece, which she created using felt tip markers and a stippling technique. The art featured a basset hound’s face and Brown told school officials she has rescued two basset-beagle mixed dogs as pets.
