(November 11, 2009) — Just in time for the holidays, Aberdeen Proving Ground Federal Credit Union (APGFCU) has produced a unique “Kids Art” 2010 calendar to raise awareness and money for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Harford County. Each month of the “Kids Art” calendar features vibrant and eye-catching artwork drawn by different children from the Clubs. For a suggested donation of $1 or more, calendars will be available November 1 – December 25 at all eight APGFCU branches in Harford County. All money collected will be donated to the Clubs to help keep the after-school programs running that provide local children with safety, education and tutoring. APGFCU is also offering other affordable gifts as part of it fundraising efforts for the Clubs, including assorted holiday plush bears for $5 and paper cut-outs of children for $1. Patrons can write their names on the cut-outs and the branch will display them in the lobby through the end of December. All net proceeds of the bears and all money from the cut-outs will be donated to the Clubs. Calendars, bears, and cut-outs are available while supplies last. The Boys & Girls Clubs of Harford County is more than a place -- it is a "movement" to inspire. By reaching children at an early age and providing positive activities and encouragement, the Clubs provide a compelling alternative to youth crime, gang membership and other negative influences that effect local youth today.
