FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: September 8, 2009 Career Expo For People With Disabilities on APG Oct. 8 Sept. 8, 2009 -- A Career Expo for People with Disabilities will be held on Thursday, October 8, 2009, from 1:00-4:30 p.m. at the Recreation Center, Building 3326, on Erie Street, Aberdeen Proving Ground. The Career Expo will bring together employers and job-seekers with disabilities in celebration of National Disability Among participating employers are: Apex Systems, Inc., APG Civilian Personnel Advisory Center, Bowhead Science and Technology, LLC, Department of Justice, CSX Railroad, CACI, Goodwill Industries of Chesapeake, Delmarva Broadcasting, Booz Allen Hamilton, Army Team C4ISR, and many more. Some of the jobs that are being recruited for at the Career Expo are: nurses, engineers, IT sales, cooks, waiters, recreation aids, engineering techs, secretaries, correctional officers, administrative staff, management/program analysts and many more. Jobseekers are advised to dress professionally, to have copies of their resume to share with employers and to be prepared to complete applications and interview. Sign language interpreters will be available. All non-government ID card holders must enter the Proving Ground via the Route 715 gate and provide a State or Federal photo ID and vehicle registration. The Harford County Commission on Disabilities was established in 1995 to serve as the voice of the disability community in Harford County. Members are appointed by the County Executive, with the approval of the County Council.
