Office on Aging Celebrates   National Active Aging Week

Sept. 16, 2009 --  The Harford County Department of Community Services’ Office on Aging is excited to announce September 21-25, 2009 as National Active Aging Week.  Special events and programs will be held at the Aberdeen, Edgewood, Havre de Grace and McFaul senior activity centers.  Activities include physical   fitness and health, computer training, arts and crafts, gardening, dancing, cholesterol and blood pressure screening, bingo, kick ball, Wii music and much more.  

New this year Aberdeen will celebrate with Break Away Week, where special break week activities will be offered.  You can attend and learn how to draw, create beautiful floral arrangements and create music.  A nominal fee is associated with   some Break Week programs, while others are free of charge.  

Registration is taking place now; make sure to reserve your space!  All area  seniors are welcome to attend Active Aging and Break Week events.  Registration is quick and easy; to register or for more information and a list of activities, just call or stop by the front desk at any of the centers.
