Fritts sworn in as college trustee

April Fritts (right) was sworn in Nov. 9 by Harford County Circuit Court Clerk James Reilly to a five year term on the Harford Community College Board of Trustees. She will represent the County Council District F (Havre de Grace-Aberdeen-Belcamp) on the board.

Nov. 13, 2009 -- April L. Fritts was sworn in as a member of the Harford Community College Board of Trustees at the Harford County Circuit Courthouse in Bel Air.

The Havre de Grace resident will serve a five year term on the nine member board, representing County Council District F, which includes Aberdeen, Havre de Grace and Belcamp.

Fritz, director of religious education at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Harford County, has a bachelor’s degree in theatre arts from High Point University and a master’s degree in curriculum and instruction from McDaniel College.  She also has a professional teaching certificate from the state of Maryland.

Her professional experience includes serving as residential life director for the Upper Chesapeake Summer Center for the Arts, staff development director and facilitator for Maryland Leadership Workshops, Inc. and a member of Harford Community College’s adjunct faculty. Fritts also has been a staff development presenter, gifted and talented drama instructer, CREATE grant program assistant and grant specialist for Cecil County Public Schools.
