FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE SHA on Twitter January 16 -- The State Highway Administration (SHA) of the Maryland Dept. of Transportation has launched a pilot program using a new customer information tool. The SHA now is on Twitter, a social networking and micro-blogging service that allows users to send and read brief updates (tweets) of up to 140 characters on any portable device that can receive text messages or email. Users log onto www.marylandroad.com and connect to Twitter or go directly to http: //twitter.com/MDSHA. The Maryland Transportation Authority also is recording up to date voice messages on a toll free line, 1-888-638-2411.
