State repaving section of Harford Road

Work has started on a $700,000 safety and resurfacing highway project on Rt. 147 (Harford Road) between the Baltimore County line and Rt. 152 (Mountain Road).

Under the terms of the state contract awarded Gray and Son of Timonium, the two mile stretch of highway will be patched, milled, resurfaced and restriped. The project, funded through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, will be finished by mid-October if weather permits.

Motorists can expect single lane closures on Harford Road  between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Monday through Friday. According to the State Highway Administration (SHA), more than 11,000 vehicles use Harford Road between Rt. 152 and the county line, so drivers should plan extra time into their daily commutes.

Those with questions about the project may call the SHA District 4 office at 410-229-2300 or toll free, 1-866-998-0367.
