Hospice benefit regatta June 5 seeks sponsors, offers tickets

Proceeds from the 11th annual Upper Chesapeake Hospice Regatta will benefit the Senator Bob Hooper House, the county’s first residential hospice for which ground was broken in Forest Hill in October 2009. The sailing race is scheduled in the waters off Havre de Grace June 5, 5 p.m.

Sponsors will enjoy the regatta at a party in their honor. The public is invited to a shore party on the grounds of the Concord Point Lighthouse that will begin at 6:30 p.m. and feature dinner prepared by chefs from the Bonefish Grill, DuClaw, Laurrapin, Open Door Café, Pairings Bistro and Scotto’s, with a cash bar, live music and dancing.

Tickets are $75 each, with sponsorships available on many levels, according to Regatta Chairperson Shari Lopresti. Last year’s regatta raised more than $30,000 for hospice services in Harford County. This year’s event marks the first time event proceeds will go directly to the new residential hospice.
