Social Media websites such as MySpace, Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn offer many interesting ways for individuals to socialize with businesses, friends, coworkers, family members, and even strangers. Learn the advantages and disadvantages of each social media website, as well as how you can promote yourself or your business in a very positive light. Learn about viral marketing and the strategy involved when it comes to using social media websites as advertisements. SBDC Business Coaching Courses, begin at CC April 23
The Small Business Development Center is bringing three international coaching organizations to Harford and Cecil counties to work with business owners who have been operating for three or more years and have revenue of more than $50,000. The six-session courses begin April 23 in Cecil County. Tuition is $595, and full tuition scholarships are available. The application deadline is March 5, 11 p.m. and recipients will be notified by March 10. Session topics include: roles of a successful business owner, development of your business strategically, development of your business with systems, building your network and utilizing your network. Participants will complete a "90 Day Action Plan" to earn more and work less. To apply, email sbdc@harford.edu with BDN in subject line or call 443-412-2237. Selection is based on first come, first served and creating a non-competitive, effective group-coaching environment.

Home Inspection master Course at HCC June 5-12
This 72-hour course provides an in-depth look at each component of a house, what to look for and how to report findings according to the Maryland Standards of Practice and Code of Ethics. Through hands-on lab exercises and demonstrations, discussions, role playing, videos, slides and lectures, learn what is needed to perform a professional home inspection and how to write a clear and precise inspection report.
